About me and my practice
Professional Details:
I have previously combined my counselling work with my Children & Young People volunteering work. I have been counselling Children & Young people for over 6 years where I provide a safe, comforting working relationship. I also have experience counselling adults for the past 5 years.
In addition I also volunteered for a Mental health and well-being support line during Covid-19.
I am a member of the BACP - British Association of Counsellors and Physiotherapists.
At present I am offering video conferencing counselling and telephone counselling.
Issues I work with:
Abuse, neglect, past experiences, self belief, adolescent experiences are just some of the concerns I can help with. I want to help you make that change all within the remits of your goals. The future is yours, you have the right to live it comfortably and safely.
I practice the person centred approach offering the client to be their own leader on their experiences. I view the client as being fully capable of fulfilling their own potential for growth in a safe and comfortable way.
I stay out of judgement. Recognising emotion in other people and communicating that emotion. I use my empathy to help connect feelings with people. Empathy takes creativity, active listening, and deep thinking. The ability to feel or imagine another persons emotional experience is a skill which I apply and use with my clients
